As a widow with two adult children and 7 grandchildren ages 7 – 16,  I have weathered many storms in life.  Estate settlement for my parents and husband as well as many career moves have provided a base of understanding which has served me well in assisting my clients with their goals, dreams, and  in solving financial issues.

I obtained my teaching credentials from the University of Manitoba with a major in Psychology and Minor in Sociology which prepared me for my guidance counselling position in a regional school in northern Manitoba with 800 students.  I was a teacher for 9 years.

Early life on a farm in Manitoba and marriage included joint ownership of land and a feedlot with 500 head of cattle.  I assisted in loading the steers for market by swinging gates. 

Up front observance of the markets was  provided by my husband Terry McMillan’s career as a Commodity Futures Trader in  Calgary  with direct lines to the trading floors.  I learned a lot about the world markets and international politics.  This education prepared Terry and me for careers in the Life Insurance industry focusing on investments and risk management.

My life insurance and Accident and Sickness licences require me to have 15 hours of continuing education for each licence annually.  This keeps me abreast of tax changes, financial issues and opportunities for estate planning to assist my clients in minimizing taxes and equalizing distribution of property.

Complex estate issues require the expertise of lawyers, accountants and financial advisors.   I work as a member of your team with the understanding that I do not charge fees, however, I am compensated through the placement of insurance and investment products .

 My focus is on education and in solving problems.
